Today I was heading from my day job, back to my coaching practice. I was about 2 miles from home, and I was stopped. I was waiting to turn into the gas station. In my rearview mirror, I saw a huge SUV speeding in my lane, heading directly for me. In 2 seconds, I floored the gas and heard a loud skidding coming from behind me. By the grace of God, the SUV missed me by (what had to be) inches. My first thought was thank you God.

I can't tell you how many times my life has been spared, or how many times I believe God intervened on my behalf. Too many to count. Too many to be a coincidence. Has that ever happened to you? I'm not talking about something here and there (although it could be.) I am taking about repeated circumstances. Even if you don't believe, you have to think why?

I have long worked with survivors of horrific events. Men who have returned from war. Women who have been sexually assaulted. People who were innocently incarcerated, to people who were given a deadly sexually transmitted disease. And guess what? They're still here. Not only that, but many of them are thriving. They speak of the tragic events that happened, as if they were designed to make them grow. This is not to say that many don't recover from those type of things, because many don't. Which is why I point out why are you still here?

We hear stories of the lone person who survived a plane crash. Or, the person who just walked out of a bank 3 seconds before it got robbed. These type of events happen daily, all over the world. You can't tell me that there isn't a reason for this. It doesn't have to be supernatural. It doesn't have to be God. But you can't tell me that it didn't matter. You matter. And what you do now, matters most.
