The 5-Day Resilience Challenge: Boost Your Coping Skills

If you are having a stressful time there is a lot you can do to help yourself. People who deal well with stress have certain characteristics that set them apart. These factors add up to what’s known as resilience, and they can be learned and developed.

For highly resilient people, these ways of thinking and responding are automatic, (that’s why they are habits). Even if you haven’t reached that point yet, you can use these tactics to get you through a difficult situation.

Build a range of coping skills

You’ll prevent the stress from getting to you, master your responses, and act strategically by setting goals and moving towards them.

Personal Resilience Course

You may not consider yourself highly resilient yet, but you can still use these tactics to get you through a difficult situation and to prevent the stress from getting to you.

The more you practice them, the more you’ll strengthen them. In the space of a few days, you can assemble the complete list of ingredients that will add up to thinking and acting as highly resilient people do.

For these ideas to truly become habits you’ll need to remind yourself of them and repeat the practice over several weeks. As you’ll see though that won’t be too difficult; the challenge is to keep at it until the habits become your automatic responses.

The 5-Day challenge

I’ve published five blogs. Each blog has a new task based on the habits of highly resilient people. These habits are not theory; they are what people who manage themselves well in stressful situations actually DO.

Follow this series of blogs and if you do one a day—you’ll be given a fresh opportunity to add a new habit daily—to your range of coping strategies.

These ideas have been proved by highly resilient people in all areas. From the military and emergency services to teaching and social care. and in all walks of life.

Whether you are a single parent struggling to make and’s meet, balancing work and parenting; a medic on call 24/7; an athlete with a grueling schedule; or a CEO with all the responsibilities that the job entails. These ideas will help you thrive under pressure. Don’t take my word for it, take up the challenge and learn them for yourself.

Each blog shares the habits of highly resilient people with a practical task to help you practice and consolidate the habits in yourself.
